Steve Jobs started Apple Computer with high school friend’s garage in Silicon Valley in 1976, was forced to ten years later, then returned to rescue the company. During his second stint, Apple has developed into the most valuable technology company in the world.

Work invented and confidently market still sleeker gadgets that technology changes every day, from PC to iPod. Growing Apple countercultural sensibility and minimalist design ethic, he pulled out a great product after another, even in the face of late-2000s recession, and his failing health.

The work helped change the computer geeky obsession with the need for fans of modern life at work and at home, and it is not just inverted personal technology, but mobile and music industries.

Perhaps most influentially, he launched the iPod in 2001, which offered a “1000 songs in your pocket.” Over the next 10 years, his white headphones and the thumb dial seemed to be as ubiquitous as wristwatches.

In 2007 came the touch-screen iPhone, and later his miniature “apps” that made the phone call not only for equipment, but for managing your money, save photos, playing games and browsing the Internet.

And in 2010, Jobs introduced the monitors, tablet size, all-touchscreen computer, which took off even though analysts said the market no one really needed one.

Earlier this month, Apple briefly surpassed Exxon Mobil’s most valuable company in America, with Apple’s stock on the open market for more than other companies.

The work of the company is shrouded in secrecy to build a feverish anticipation for each of its new products. The work itself wizardly sense of what his customers wanted, and where demand exists, that leveraged cult-like following to create.

Speaking at the presentation of Apple, almost always in faded blue jeans, sneakers and a black turtleneck false legion of helpers Apple listened to every word. He often boasts of successes Apple, then sheepishly added a coda – “Anything” – before the introduction of its latest ambitious idea.
