For some time we have been keeping our eyes out for new games capable of testing the latest hardware. This year a series of games have arisen in our radar, such as Crysis 2, Bulletstorm, Dragon Age II, Brink, The Witcher 2, Duke Nukem Forever, DiRT 3 and, more recently Deus Ex.
Of these only some of them have impressed us, especially because most of them have been console ports were moved to the door of the PC, or so it seemed. So this is a big surprise that the most impressive games we’ve tested this year was The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, a game designed exclusively for PC. On a side note, my favorite game right now is still StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, which is another game designed exclusively for the platform. Unfortunately, few exclusive titles are published each year. However, relatively a newcomer, ‘Flying Hog Wild’ Polish developer has been secretly working on a Christmas gift to PC gamers, the game is called Hard Reset.
Some of you have heard of him as a playable demo of 1GB was released last week (yes, a demo before launch, like the good old days!). Content preview some of the first level, which provides approximately 20 to 30 minutes of play using a wide range of weapons. What makes Hard Reset an exciting release that is not just a PC exclusive title, of course, but so far have been satisfied with something basic gameplay and environment in general. Additionally, the game has been built using a new game engine ever seen called “Road Hog” has been built from scratch, making it an important investment for the developer.
With the playable demo to be the first thing that really put Hard Reset on our radar, the game itself is unknown to us. That said, hard reset is very fun to play, otherwise the game looks impressive, with high quality graphics, although it is a DX9 title only. Let’s move on to see how we tested the game.
