Brian Grazer, is now juggling the hearts of many fans desperate and tired by the long-awaited revival of the project with Ron Howard Arrested Development. Now, says the ambitious multi-platform adaptation of the Dark Tower series is back on track, and the television of the project, even made by HBO.
Ron Howard and Grazer originally planned for seven novel by Stephen King (with an eighth coming), pop culture-spewing, cowboy fantasy series of three films to be long and is backed by Universal Pictures. A television series was also scheduled to bridge gaps and bring to each of the following films in the trilogy, as well as the method behind the new development project stopped. However, due to a large budget, Universal Pictures pulled the plug back in July.
In an interview with MTV, Grazer insists that The Dark Tower will still be saying “let’s do [‘The Dark Tower‘] with HBO. Let’s make television with HBO, and we will make the movie with the … be determined. We will do well. “
Grazer said the budget was reduced by $ 45 million, but I would not further the scope of the film and had to do. When asked about Javier Bardem to play Roland Deschain, the product, said the star of No Country for Old Men would probably be still on board.
HBO means a very different place than the previous plan to air on NBC. Of course, the Dark Tower project is a delicate matter, apart from being fired by Universal Pictures, JJ Abrams and other creators of Lost have already given up adaptation, due to the large commitment (and pressure) of the Dark Tower is required.
HBO has not officially commented on the development yet, but Stephen King’s dark fantasy might not be a bad move because as Game of Thrones is doing so well. Who knows, you can also open negotiations for the fit again preacher who never saw it.
